LiveSoy™ Classic wax is a high quality soy wax suitable for container candles as well as other applications.
Product Overview
LiveSoy™ Classic wax has been designed to deliver a stronger natural soy scent - we recommend testing first to ensure it is suitable for your individual requirements.
Soy Wax is made from pure 100% soy beans and carefully selected botanical oils. It has a soft creamy appearance, with a lovely smooth top.
LiveSoy™ Classic has excellent adhesion qualities for jars, tins and other containers. The containers don't need to be pre-heated, but do need to be at a reasonable ambient room temperature. This soy wax has excellent scent throw with both fragrance oils and essential oils alike (Max Scent Load 8%).
Melting
This wax has a melt temperature of approx. 71.1 to 93.3°C (160 to 200°F). Do not heat the wax above 93.3°C (200°F). temperatures in excess of this may cause the wax to discolour. Before adding any colour or fragrance, make sure that the melted wax has been thoroughly stirred to ensure an even heat distribution.
Using Dyes
This wax works well with most powder, liquid and solid dyes, to achieve a deep colour, about 10% extra dye may be required. When using powder dyes the wax needs to be raised to a temperature of approx 87.8°C (190°F) and stirred continuously until all the dye has been completely dissolved. It is often easier, when using powder dyes, to dissolve the powder dye in fragrance before adding to the wax.
Using Fragrance
The recommended maximum scent load for this wax is 8%. If you use more than that, the wax may not be able to hold the fragrance in suspension and you will get 'wet spots' where the fragrance has puddled.
It is recommended that any fragrance is added just before pouring - at a temperature no lower than 57.2C (135F). Make an allowance for the slight temperature drop when you add the cool fragrance.
The optimum scent throw from this wax is achieved when you have a full size melt pool with a depth of 1/4 - 1/2". Not all fragrances are suitable for soya wax and may lead to frosting or poor flame quality. If this happens, try a different fragrance.
Wicking
Soy wax needs a larger wick than paraffin waxes, and cotton cored, paper cored and zinc cored wicks should be avoided as they tend to get a bit of a carbon build up which will give rise to 'sooting'.
The general guide from the manufacturer is to achieve a full melt pool extending from side to side, with a depth of 1/4-1/2" in approximately the same number of hours for every inch (2.5cm) of the diameter of the container.
For example: If you have a container with a diameter of approx 10cm (4"), the full melt pool should be achieved in approx 4 hours. ie: 1 hour for every inch diameter.
Wick Size Guide
The following wicks are a guide ONLY. They don't take into account any use of fragrance or dye, which will effect the wick. Use the guide as a starting point, but Test-Burn and adjust if necessary.

Pouring
Pour temperatures will vary according to the size of container being used. The size will effect the rate of cooling, and cooling too quickly (or slowly) can cause the wax to frost, or the top surface to become concave.
After wax has been completely melted reduce the heat on the wax so that the wax cools to a temperature of 120 to 165°F (48.9 to 73.8°C
If you do experience problems with frosting or shrinkage, try adjusting your pour temperature in increments of 10 degrees.
Allow the candles to cool undisturbed in an ambient temperature of approx. 70F (21C). The containers need to be at least 1/2" apart to allow for proper air circulation and even cooling. Leave any lids off the containers for at least 24 hours - longer for really large ones. Allow the candles to 'cure' for at least 48 hours before test burning. It really does make a difference!
Let’s get this move of premises completed.

I prefer the soy pilar/ melts blend but because it had been out of stock I had to order these flakes. They are ok but have to work more harder to get smooth surface when poured which had to smothered by using heat gun a number of times
Soy wax as I ordered thank you. However, I thought it was meant to be flakes and in fairness, 50% or thereabouts WAS flakes. The remainder was lumps – one of which was over 2 kilo on its own! It’s all going to be melted down so it probably won’t be too much of a problem. The only thing is that my pot only holds a maximum of 400g! So I’ve got some excavating to do.
Delighted with the overall service. Delivery was not initially expected until Monday or Tuesday. Bravo!!!
Ease of ordering and quick delivery also good prices
